Default Clutch Basket Nut

Okay so I took off the clutch cover on my 04 Hornet.
So number 17 on the diagram, the nut, is almost, if not impossible to remove. Its to the point where it turned into a work out. I think I need an impact wrench or something for this. If I continue to use a damn socket and ratchet, I'm for sure going to strip the nut. Any advice on how to remove it? I hate taking the bus to college because that's gas money. Also, its a 1&1/16 socket right? Its a little wiggly because of all the "twisting and failing" I've given it.

Anyone have any advice? What have you done to replace your clutch? How did you do it?
