Hello folks:
Been hiding for a while till i got my password and account activation (after the second attempt). I picked up a 2004 honda hornet (I live in England, stationed here with the USAF) for 800 pounds, damn good deal. Dude threw in a tank bag, leather blue hornet tank cover, oxford soft bags and a cover for another 100 pounds, and it's all paid for now. 20k on the clocks. I've dropped it once lowsided at about 20-25 and it bounced over to the other side so now both sides have minor scratches on the case/cover things but it doesnt look too bad cause the LSR crash pads took most of the brunt, they looed really good on the bike before the impact, crap gotta replace them now. I already have plans to add a center stand, givi windscreen, and maybe an x-cone (down the road). and I have a bunch of replacement parts to replace some minor cosmetic scratched (gauges). The bike is so much fun, strong, easy to ride...my first bike, never ridden.
My freinds think I am crazy to learn motorcycling in England, especially on such a powerfull bike. I finished the MSF course and I'm just waiting on TX to endorse my license so I can ride legally here. Service members and dependants are covered by the status of forced agreement so they don't have to have an English riders license or euro license, just a USAFE card.
Wish the tank had more capacity.
this thing is fun.
so anyways, that's my story thanks to all the cool cats for posting such helpful info and thanks to all the other people who ask stupid silly questions so I don't have to cause I've probably read 90% of all the threads on this site.
I'm trying to register on the hornets nest site (UK) but it's done by snail mail and I haven't yet sent off my stuff.....
peace.
