Make that four 599 riders in Phoenix. I live in Scottsdale and bought my 06 from craigslist about 5 weeks ago. My bike had 5,000 miles on it, looked new and I got it for $4,200. The previous owner had bought it for his wife as a replacement for a 250 Ninja. Turned out she didn't like it, thought it was too fast. I think I got a smokin' deal.
Make that four 599 riders in Phoenix. I live in Scottsdale and bought my 06 from craigslist about 5 weeks ago. My bike had 5,000 miles on it, looked new and I got it for $4,200. It's very late notice, but I just decided to do Bartlett around 9A today! That's Monday, June 23, 2008. I'll be checking for responses until then. We could meet someplace like the Starbucks near Pinnacle Peak and Pima or the Cave Creek Coffee Company.

That's OK. Your schedule is good to know! I'll keep it in mind for next time.
I went to Bartlett, and was hounded by a park ranger. Being Monday morning, with little traffic, I thought I would be free to run as I please. You never know.
Afterward, I rode up toward Seven Springs for the first time. That was interesting! There's a little hike with Native American ruins along the way that I'll go back and do sometime soon. Plus, I'm more interested now in taking the car to the Springs to do some exploring out there. The road turns to gravel fairly quickly.

I got Fridays off, but I'm changing the turn signals, and adding lights to the front, gonna be a bit before she is roadworthy again. The ride through wickenburg to yarnell Hill is nice, and it's cool at the top!!!
I may do Scottsdale - I-17 - Camp Verde - Payson - Beeline - Scottsdale tomorrow, starting around 10A. Let me know if you're interested in joining!

thanks for the invite, sorry I could not make it, have to stay somewhat close to home for personal reasons, how long of a ride was it?
I went up to S. Mountain, but they had the top part closed off for 'guardrail maintenance'.

I left my house at 9:45A and arrived back at 2:15P, with a very leisurely lunch in Payson. 230 miles, total. My favorite section, as usual, was running up the Rim east of Camp Verde. Little traffic, smooth pavement, fast sweeping curves, good corner visibility, beautiful scenery. Highway Patrol here and there along the way, but if you take it easy on the straights you're OK.
For tomorrow (Friday, August 22nd), I'm thinking Fountain Hills (Shell station on Shea Blvd near 87/Beeline Hwy), up 87, 188 past Roosevelt Lake, 60 to Globe for lunch, 60 home. Possible 77 to Winkelman and 177 to Superior extension after lunch. Meet around 10A, kickstands up at 10:20A. All Phoenix hornets invited. Respond ASAP!

Left my house at 9:45A, gassed up in Fountain Hills, left by 10:20A, Roosevelt Lake was the fullest I've ever seen it, took a rest at a scenic stop near Roosevelt, had a traffic delay and witnessed a life flight (not a motorcyclist) on the way toward Globe, ate at the new-to-me Drift In Saloon in Globe, cooked it home on the 60, and arrived at 3P. 222.4 miles, with some really great sights and good curves.
Calling all greater Phoenix area hornets!
For this coming Friday, September 26th, I'm considering Phoenix - Wickenburg - Prescott - Jerome - Phoenix.

Have to work. Last Saturday I did the back way to Prescott, through Wickenberg. On Sunday went to tortilla Flats, both were terriffic rides, wish I could go.

The ride didn't happen Friday, I went yesterday instead. 284 miles, including a 20 mile self-induced diversion. Great riding and a fantastic lunch at an Italian bistro in Jerome.
I won't post any more rides, as I've not had anyone bite on the rides I've posted. If you want to ride with me, then post! Ciao.
