Just dreaming about the changes I want to make to my bike, I was wondering how I'd go about installing a slip-on. I noticed there's just one bolt that holds the can, but the rest of it looks welded together. Could I just take a hacksaw to the stock pipe to remove the muffler and use a clamp for the slip-on?

I believe most for the 599 come with the downpipe that connects with just a slip on and allen wrech clamp to tighten around header... atleast thats what my micron consists of can is already attached to downpipe so u just slip on and go. Only work u really need to do it maybe put springs on muffler itself and tighten heat shield if it comes with one.

Yeah you shouldn't have to hacksaw anything!! Hence the name "slip-on"
JHen... :) If youre having to hacksaw, you're not doing something right.
If you ask me it's a fairly easy mod. Should only take about 30 min to
an hour with a couple tools. My son could probably do it. :)

Ah, ok... I wasn't sure exactly where it installed. I figured they just sent you a muffler. Awesome.
