It's going to be almost too hot to ride fairly soon. Anyone want to get serious about a so cal group ride before then? My vote would be Angeles Crest (HWY 2) or up the coast to Santa Barbara (via Ojai), but let's hear some more suggestions.

Renewing my SoCal group ride attempt after the lovely pics from the swarms that buzzed Canada and the recent taming of the Dragon. So what say you - Sat, 6/23, or Sat 6/30 - Angeles Crest?

I'm open to other days. However, the further in the summer we're talking, the more I'd recomend rides up and down the coast where we won't cook in the heat. Anyone got any suggestions?

a ride up to coast would be awesome. Sounds good. Not familiar with the coast ride though...hmmm i'll do a little research.

I just learned a SWEET route up in the Santa Monica Mts that loops on and off of PCH right on the coast...

Bump.
I'm up for a ride, but it will need to be later in the year. September 8-9 or 28-29 are dates I have free. Let's make it happen!

Sept, so far away. I think it can be done though. You thinking something more in the Daygo or OC area? or something in LA county. Hell, if we get enough interest, maybe we can take a weekend and shoot up to do donuts on Alex's lawn in the Bay. But until then, is anyone in SoCal up for something a little sooner?

You're not going to believe this but I now have conflicts on both those weekends. *sigh*
I have to get continuing legal education credits in both Washington and California in order to keep my bar licenses in those states. So I'm going up to WA for a two-day criminal law class on the 7th and 8th, and the last weekend of September is part of the four-day California Bar Association annual meeting (with lots of CLE.) Bah. No riding on those weekends.

D'oh! Well, anyone else?

That would be awesome! Don't have a lawn though... Will a balcony of a small one bedroom do?

BUMP
Okay SoCal guys & gals, it's halfway through Aug. Is a SoCal Hornet group ride doable or should I just hang it up?
Burnouts in the parking then! :ride
Uhm.. noooooo
Seriously, if you guys want to ride up here... that would be cool. Hopefully the local riders will join us for a ride in Santa Cruz mountains!

That would be hot! I'll have to think on that one a bit. Although, I'm not sure how many of us have asses of steel like Sachi to make that trip in a weekend. Might require some vacation type planning to pull that off.
All that aside, there are 20 riders on this forum located in SoCal from what I can tell (we still have 3 pages of members with empty location feilds). Am I to beleive that out of 20 riders, we don't have enough interest for a little swarm somewhere in the mountains, valleys or coastline of southern California? Say it aint so.

Hey whatsup everybody. For those of you who don't know me, I just became a member; of this forum as well as Hornet ownership. Here's a lil bout me in my intro post: www.honda599.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1586 (http://www.honda599.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1586)
I'm down for a ride. Were you thinkin a weekend trip or a day long type of thing? I'm good to go as soon as I can get the shop to fix my turn signal/tail light problem and I do some minor maintainence.
I have an ok idea about general stuff, but maybe some of you knowledgable wrenchers might be able to help enlighten me a little more on minor tuning and servicing. Seeing as how I just bought it from a private seller, I'd like to take my bike into the shop for a full service and tune up but it's quite pricey for all that. I just wanna make sure everything is in order before I go out for a long ride.
- oh yeah, I'll make sure to check out the repair and maintanence section as well

Seriously, this place is the like the Mecca of Motorcycling :bow .
I love goin to that vista point on Mulholland and chattin with the other bikers who also happen to be hangin out.
There are soo many roads that I have yet to explore out here. Angeles Crest is one that I really wanna ride. I've only seen it in pictures and video (and google maps of course) so far but it looks amazing! Are there sections of it that are still closed?

Hey whatsup everyone,
I just rode Angeles Crest for the first time on Sunday and I thought it was great. Nice sweeping curves and a spectacular backdrop of mountains and forest.
I plan on goin up again pretty soon, maybe this weekend. My schedule is somewhat flexible at the moment so if any of you guys want to try and meet up for a ride...

I won't be able to make it this weekend (the 15th), but next time you want to go, let me know. The crest is f*$&#^@ amazing, especially now that it's not 100 degrees out there anymore.

Leatherwings and I hit the canyons today, and before he rean into a little bike trouble it was an amazing day to ride. The Rock Store was packed and we even saw two 919s and and one other 599. I wonder if any of them are here on the forum...
Bike trouble on a 919??? I don't believe it. Must be rider error. ;)
