I met a new NRV 599er today in Blacksburg in the parking lot next to Buffalo Wild Wings. If only the 599 was as popular everywhere in the country as it is around here, we would be getting the 2008 model.

I was in Ottawa, ON last week, saw lots of bikes in both ON and Quebec, with the roads on the Quebec side looking quite fun for riding. (Went out to Montabello and then the Gatineau Park.) Thought I caught a glimpse of a 599 near the ByWard Market; person was wearing full (black) leathers. Were any of our Canadian friends out riding late last week in Ottawa?

Ja. Highest glacier in Europe, highest elevation in Austria, 2nd highest elevation in the Alps (after Mont Blanc) and motorcycle heaven from the looks of it. I've never seen so many BMWs in one place before. God knows I wish I had my motorcycle on that day.

Calgary. I think I saw an 06 599 on Blackfoot heading south -- Saturday afternoon at around 5:15. He had black leathers, black helmet, backpack. Bike looked dirty, but it might have been the asphalt color.

I put on almost a hundred miles this afternoon, with several stops at gas stations to remove bugs from the face shield. (Ugh.)

I thought these kids (yeah, I do mean that) were friendly enough, but really need to acquire some better riding gear. :shock: Then I ran across a pair on a scooter -- one in shorts, the other in flip-flops. Oh, my....

Think I saw one about 11 am this morning in Ephrata. 272S to 322E.

Saw the gauge pod from 272 (above) as he was getting on to 322.

Either an Asphalt 04 or dark colored 919. Never got a look at the left side to check for dual exhaust.

When I went over to move my bike, the guy realized it wasn't the mechanic's 919, apologized, and went ahead and cleaned & dried my bike. Free detailing!:thumbsup

Had a great 599 sighting yesterday, came right up behind one in a left turn lane in Salt Lake. Not just any left turn lane either, the one that goes up Emigration Canyon! Anyway, if that was any of you guys on a 2004 Asphalt, good to see ya, hope you had a great ride and stayed warm!

Spotted a older 919 on Blackfoot Trail today, black, clubman bars, CRG mirrors -- little flyscreen of unknown origin. Guy was wearing a Scorpion jacket and brown cord trousers (?).

Tried to shout a few words at the light on 42nd, but we were both freezing our asses off, so it was pretty muffled. I did manage to shout "HONDA599.COM" -- but not sure he got it.

Friday night the whole family drove down to Ontario(California) to pick my son up from the airport, and what should be parked right out front but an 06' blacktallic 599. After my son arrived, we headed out to the parking lot, and there was the bike as well as the rider, warming up the bike. I walked over and asked if he had heard of our forum, and it turns out he is a member, but apparently not that active. Can't for the life of me remember his username, but it was nice to see another member of our forum, as there are very few Hornets in Central CA.

Saw another 919 with a Givi top case in Calgary today. No Ride Naked sticker, and I was in the cage at the time. Turning left from Edmonton Trail onto McKnight. That's a block from my house! I've seen enough Hornets here to pull off a significant swarm; how come none of them are on this site?

Prob the same one that I saw on Signal Mountain Road. It was on '06 didnt get a long enough look to see anything that made him stand out. Although he wasnt wearing any kind of gear. Hopefully I will see him around again. Seen a few more in the area lately.

That's a Jordan F1 limited edition, quadracer, or a replica. About 50 were made in 1998 to celebrate the connection with Eddie Jordan's (Honda engined) F1 race team ('the buzzin' hornet's'). There were a lot of replica's but this one looks to have a 'T' 1998 registration so it might be the real McCoy.

Sweet video...Greater Boston Motorsports has a red 919 for sale, it really is sweet. I got my 599 from them for $4500 with only 1800 miles on it. You are in a great area to ride, was up in that area a few weeks ago on my ride back from NH.:thumbsup

I saw a 919 this afternoon in Los Alamos, NM. I'm here for a career fair (national laboratories got together for a shindig), and I was on my way out of town when I spotted it. Said, "hey, like your bike. I've got a 599." He probably thought I was nuts.

While on vacation, saw a black 919 on Saturday, August 21, mid-day, in Gardnerville-Minden, NV, crossing the route to get from the grade down from Stateline, NV to Highway 395 South. (We were headed from South Lake Tahoe area to the Bridgeport, CA area.)

I went for a quick (handlebar adjustment) ride and stopped at a local boat launch about a mile from my house to rotate; and a guy on a 919 pops up out of nowhere! He couldn't get over how good the gold bars looked and was headed home to order a set... Pretty cool guy too, knew all about the 599/919 "heritage" and was excited that I had one.

Yes and no. It is my last name. I actually saw one other 919 yesterday downtown. Silver, can't be sure it is different from the other two. None of the silvers have any mods that I notice.

Last night I saw the only other 599 I've ever seen in my life! I was walking out my friends apartment in London and there was a dude talking on his phone leaning up against his bike. He made my day!

I'm not sure. I only got a good enough look at it to know that it was a 919... didn't pay attention to the mirrors and screen.

Met a dude on a grey 919 today. Said he had just got it and it was his first bike. That was cool...but at some point during the day i lost my phone. Forgot to put it back in my pocket and still had it clipped to the belt when i got back on the bike.:rant:rant:rant ....and even worse is since i "never lose my phone", i didn't get the insurance when i upgraded back in Sept... I've only seen one other 599 around here besides my own. And someone at my work has a 919. Thats all I know of in Newfoundland.

I purchased my 599 this time last year as my first bike (drove a XR100 for a long time as a child). Once I found these forums filled with other 599/919 enthusiasts I just had to join. I'll get some pictures up soon - Right now the bike is in the garage since I am waiting for the snow to melt and some rain to clear salt from the streets.

wouldnt normally post here as i often see hornets.. but this morning i was overtaken by a special one: the 2011 version in yellow! :shock:

i was in the jamjar (car) on my way to the gym so couldnt follow but it looked sweet. the rear looks good.

one of my fav things about my hornet is the pointy tail and im glad to see it return. cant have a hornet without a stinger anyway! :wink:

South Charlotte area. I've seen a Yellow 2004 a few times around where I work while I happened to be out with the family. Well a few Sundays ago I had to work in the a late shift so I ran out for quick dinner on my 2004 Asphalt and while eating the dude in the Yellow pulls into the plaza and parks right next to me.

I quickly ate my dinner and hung out till he came out of where he was at and we talked about the bikes for a few minutes.

one of my fav things about my hornet is the pointy tail and im glad to see it return. cant have a hornet without a stinger anyway! :wink:

We were actually talking about this at the last Smokies swarm... just about every feature of the hornet is straight functional over form, which I think is what makes the bike look so great as a whole, with the exception of the pointy tail. Not that the tail looks bad, but its a design flourish, and that makes it stand out against the rest of the bike and is a defining feature.

...except for the high mounted exhaust. I guess that's mostly just a visual design feature too. Is there any practical reason to have the exhaust so high?

I saw a flat grey 919 with temporary tags in Chicago on Saturday, parked on Diversey Ave.

I passed a yellow 599 about 5:30AM this morning at the intersection of US 30 and Illinois 126 just west of Plainfield, IL. I think we both did a double take as I was on my 599. This is only the second 599 (both yellow) I have seen. I saw another on several years ago on US 30 in Merrilville Indiana.

Rider in all black and Grey gear.. on Rt 303 in Peninsula OH yesterday.. bout 430pm.. was with a groups of 3 or 4 others. they were stopped at a light and I had too much traffic to stop... we both did the head nod and rode on. wonder if its one of us on the forum.


then later in the day ran into a guy that knew what the bike was but never found one to buy.. he settled for a SV650. said he loves it.

Saw a yellow 599 at the Kittery post office in Maine. It's the only other 599 I've ever seen on the US. I stopped and left a note!

I don't think there are any other 599s in NC. Mine is a black 2006. I ride in the Greensboro area.

Frontline Motorsports in Christiansburg has a used CB1000R. I should have included the 919 fully in the photos, didn't think to at the time. It's interesting to compare.

Saw what I think was a black 599 or 919 today near the VT campus. I was concentrating too much on IDing the bike, and didn't notice the dead cat until I rode over it. Poor cat, but at least I didn't do the deed.

I took off to the last swarm from lower upstate NY in pretty heavy rain but it was warmish at least. I threw on a wal-mart rain jacket and pants and by the time I got to VA it was sunny again. That damn hood was a nuisance blowing behind my helmet at 100 indicated on the interstate. It was much drier moving than standing still, that's for sure.

Here in LA, on the 405 N, between the 105 and the 90. You were chillin' in the carpool lane on a black 599 with what looked like a Mivv small oval can. I came by you on a white Speed Triple. You took off and I kept pace up until I had to exit :mrgreen:
